24 years after its original release, the Nike Air Max 2 Light has arrived ready for the coming summer. A combination of synthetic leather, mesh and suede have kept this model as almost an exact replica of its original counterpart. Lagoon blue suede layers the toe cap under white leather which adjoins to the eyestays to play a sharp but clean contrast to the blue tongue which is adorned with an original Air Max 2 logo. The upper body is shared between blue mesh and white leather which has been slightly raised to accent the sides of the shoe, similarly the infamous Nike swoosh is presented in black leather over the raised Air unit which has sharp hits of orange and blue to highlight the arching white sole, without a doubt a nod to it’s heritage. The shoe is finished with 3M accents on the Nike Air logo which is found on the heel of the shoe as well as on the plastic lace deubré.

In 1994, this shoe was an instant hit with athletes and streetwear fanatics alike. The Air unit allowed for less midsole and more air, making it perfect for runners who wanted to minimise weight which was a persistent problem in running shoes. The shoe presented several changes in its Air units that allowed it to be dubbed the ‘Light’ edition; primarily the area under the foot of the wearer presents a lower PSI to be more responsive to use, whereas the Air pockets on the side have a higher PSI to keep the foot in place and ensure comfort.

The shoes colour pallette has its roots in the Miami Dolphins; with light blue, white and hints of orange surrounding the logo which undoubtedly will complement the summer weather making it an essential for the coming months.
